At Ratio Electric B.V., we aim for a transport cost policy that is not only fair and transparent but also aligns with our core values. This policy has been developed with the following objectives:
• Sustainability: We strive to contribute to a greener future by reducing the number of transport movements and making environmentally friendly choices.
• Efficiency: By optimizing our processes, we can continue to offer competitive prices that are attractive to our customers.
• Cost control: This policy helps us keep transport and related costs manageable, enabling a fair distribution of costs.
2.1 This policy covers the passing on of transport costs to customers, including administration costs, repeat shipments and international shipments.
2.2 Our aim is to encourage customers to place larger and more efficient orders, allowing us to better manage costs and you to benefit from more advantageous rates.
2.3 Deviations from this policy in sales agreements are not possible. This means that discounts on recharged transport costs will not be provided.
3.1 Standard Rates
For deliveries within the Benelux, we apply standard DAP (Delivered At Place) terms. This includes the transport costs for one standard delivery address specified by the customer.
For deliveries to alternative or multiple addresses (drop shipments), a fee of €20 per shipment will be charged (effective January 1, 2025, previously €10 per shipment).
Exceptions:
For pallet deliveries of heavy products or non-standard sizes (e.g. concrete bases or Ratio io7’s units), a fixed fee of €75 applies, including the delivery of 1 pallet.
3.2 Repeat shipments
Repeat shipments resulting from customer-side errors (e.g., incorrect addresses) are not covered under our standard transport coverage. All costs for return and repeat transport will be fully charged to the customer.
3.3 Consolidation
• Delivery Timelines: Delveries within the Benelux are made within 48 hours, provided the products are in stock. Next-day deliveries require prior consultation with our Operations Team.
• Consolidation: To reduce transport movements, we reserve the right to combine multiple scheduled deliveries from the same customer into one shipment wherever possible.
• Urgent Deliveries: Within our transport policy, we try to avoid express deliveries as much as possible to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
For international shipments, all transport, customs and administration costs are fully charged to the customer.
Customers may optionally choose delivery under FCA (Free Carrier) terms in prior agreement with us, allowing them to arrange their own transport while we deliver the goods to the customer’s designated carrier.
4.1 Country Specific Adjustments
The following changes will apply as of 1 January 2025:
• Switzerland: All customs and administration fees will be fully charged.
• Germany: Transport costs will be fully charged.
• All countries outside the Benelux: Please take into account an increase in chargeable transport costs of 5%-10%, depending on the destination country. This reflects significant rate increases in the transport sector (wages, fuel, equipment, etc.).
5.1 For orders below €250, we charge a standard administration fee of €30 (previously €20). For multiple small orders under €250, which are combined into 1 order, our Customer Service Department or Operations Manager may decide to reduce these fees.
5.2 Additional administrative handling fees may apply for international shipments, depending on the destination country and the complexity of the shipment (e.g., extra required customs documentation).
6.1 Throughout 2025, we will regularly evaluate the effectiveness of this policy and assess whether adjustments are necessary.
6.2 Customer feedback regarding transport costs and delivery times will be actively collected by the Sales Team and shared with management.
